This double flute carbide-tipped assembled mortising bit is recommended for creating mortises for hinges and locksets. It is used to produce a remarkably clean cut with crisp edges. A suitable mortising bit, as shown, should have a large gullet between the two flutes.

    These blades look well made. Unlike the ones I ordered elsewhere whose welds broke, were poorly aligned during welding and were miss-packaged wrt their stated length. The ones from these people have welds that are straight and are hard to distinguish from the parent material after weld cleanup...
