What Router Bit Options Do We Offer?
Cutting Styles & Applications
- Upcut – Draws chips upward from the cut. Suitable designs work well for grooving and pocketing in solid wood, wood composites and some plastics.
- Downcut – Helps protect the top edge of the workpiece, including suitable dado cuts in laminated materials.
- Compression – Combines upcut and downcut geometry for laminated or veneered panels where both faces matter. Compare the upcut length with your material thickness and planned cutting depth.
- Low Helix – Includes designs for plastics and solid-wood finishing. Check the particular cutter's intended application.
- O-Flute – Material-specific options for plastics or aluminum. Select a cutter recommended for the particular material you're routing.
- Chipbreaker & Ripper – Specialised designs for demanding cuts. Ripper bits use serrated teeth to help reduce tear-out in difficult grain; chipbreaker applications vary by model.
Selected models also offer UltiMAX-coated options, including compression cutters for nested sheet goods. Sizes, flute counts and coating availability vary by tool.
Choosing the Right Fit
- Your material – Match the cutter to the specific wood, panel, plastic or aluminum you're working with.
- Your router – Check the bit's intended machine type, rotation and operating limits. Confirm suitability for CNC, handheld or table-mounted use.
- Your dimensions – Match the shank to your collet, and check cutting diameter, cutting length and overall length.
- Your cut – Consider which faces need a clean finish, chip clearance, workholding and the recommended feed and speed for the selected tool.
Ordering & Availability
