The Klingspor abrasive disc PS 73 BWK is self-fastening, making it ideal for use on handheld sanders with hook and loop backing pads. Its backing is composed of a B-weight paper, which is relatively light, yet sufficiently robust. The abrasive grain used is aluminium oxide, which is applied with a semi-open coating. This coating leaves behind enough space to allow for a swift discharge of the debris, keeping the abrasive disc from clogging. Aluminium oxide is hard and tough. Allowing for a high removal rate, this material ensures a sanding result of excellent quality. Just as all other grains Klingspor uses for their abrasives, this grain is the product of a synthetic manufacturing process. This process ensures consistent quality.
All abrasives sold under the Klingspor brand are treated with a synthetic resin top size coat. Distinguished by strong bonding force, this coat anchors the grain firmly to the base coat and supports the grain against the lateral forces that act on it.
